Upstream Process Development
Developing preinoculum and inoculum cultures, establishing and synchronizing any growth stages, optimizing its duration and determining the best conditions to achieve the desired biomass or product yields are all tasks which can be studied by highly experienced scientist.
Several bioreactor culture strategies (batch, fed-batch or continuous culture) can be designed, assayed, compared and optimized up to find the optimum ones to achieve best results.
Downstream Process Development
Once a desired concentration has been attained the product should be captured, recovered and purified from the fermentation broth. Filtration, centrifugation, precipitation and chromatography are common unit-operations at this stage. manages the process of designing, testing, defining and establishing the best conditions to be applied in successive phases.
Process Analytical Characterization
Process parameters to control and monitorize the evolution of the process should be well established in order to have a robust and consistent process. Several key parameters can be analyzed in order to allow quality consistency in batches. |
